We're back with another hot season of FNCS 2023. Before Chapter 4 takes us on a journey, it's time to adjust the Fortnite rankings for the upcoming season.
Fortnite is getting stronger and stronger. 2023 looks set to be one of the biggest years for the competitive side of the game. With the Grand Royale bringing together the best Duos at the end of the year, we're taking a look back at how each season's teams compete outside of the FNCS. The gaming esports scene is as alive and exciting as ever. Great players always push the bar of skill in the game to new heights. However, in a game like this, things move quickly.
The best players from 2021/22. they won't necessarily be the best Fortnite players in 2023. At last year's FNCS tournaments, some of the top-ranked Fortnite players lost to some who weren't particularly on the radar. New players are constantly coming into the game. The new Chapter 4 update completely reinvented the meta, so there's room for new players to take their places as top contenders.
Here are the best players in Fortnite coming into 2023, the ones that stand out right now:
# | identification card | To do | year of birth | Nationality | Current team |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | sarcastic | Aleksa Cvetković | in 2002 | Serbia | Galaxy Racer |
2 | Vena | Harry Pearson | in 2004 | United Kingdom | Tundra |
3 | from the duke | Lucas Cardenas | in 2005 | Mexico | Dignitas |
4 | Edgey | Ben Peterson | in 2003 | SAD | Dignitas |
5 | Tay sin | Tai Starčič | in 2004 | Slovenia | Falcon Esports |
6 | Merstach | Andrei Piratov | in 2007 | Latvia | - |
7 | They arise | Danila Yakovenko | in 2005 | Russia | Galaxy Racer Esports |
8 | ThomasHD | Thomas Høxbro Davidsen | in 2002 | Danish | Astralis |
9 | cold | - | in 2007 | SAD | Group 33 |
10 | Acorn | - | in 2004 | You have | Group 33 |
For our rankings, we take into account the top 10 finishes for each region at recent FNCS events, as well as going through this year's money cups, to see who placed the most in the top 10. There's also the recent FNCS Major 2 to consider. Bigger tournaments carry a lot of weight when deciding the best Fortnite players right now. Taking everything into account when deciding who the best Fortnite players in the world are can be a bit subjective. We've broken it down to explain each player's ranking and what makes them stand out.

Who are the top 10 Fortnite players to watch in 2023?
We've got a list of the best Fortnite players to help you figure out who's going to matter in 2023 and beyond!
1. Worrying
Credit: FN Competitive on Twitter
Quesy and Veno rose to the top spot after an amazing showing at FNCS Major 2. They secured their LAN spot here, but they did so with such an incredibly strong performance that it's hard to imagine them beating them in Chapter 4 Season 2. The two managed to score 6 Victory Royales in the finals, five of which were consecutive. It is a unique route that will be very difficult to surpass in the future.
2. vena
Zasluge: Redbull Gaming
As the other part of the winning duo in Chapter 4, Season 2, Veno is equally one of the best players in Fortnite right now. In Europe, they have at least set the standard by which winning duos will be measured in the future. Even if we look ahead to the LAN at the end of the year, they have a very good chance of going all the way.
3. Dukez
Credit: Dukez
Dukez is the last of the trio of Mero and Bugh to take first place in FNCS Chapter 3 and the Grand Royale. These are impressive results. Moving up to Duos in 2023, he got off to a mixed start but came alive in the last major. Playing with Edgey, they just took first place in NA this season and secured their LAN spot.
4. Edgey
Credits: Focused on Twitter
Edgey and Dukez can take the title of the best players in North America right now. Their performance in the last finals was not up to the level of Queasy and Veno, but they were the best duo in NA. They may not have won a Victory Royale in twelve matches, but they consistently did well. They made it to the top 10 many times and managed to destroy their opponents in kills. They are a force to be reckoned with in the newly united NA region.
5. Tayson
Zasluge: EarlyGame
TaySon is a European player who has risen quite a bit in our rankings. The player is currently a member of Team Falcons and has had several different teammates over the years. He's really come into his own recently. He took first place in the first FNCS for Chapter 4, Major 1. With his previous achievements and this recent win, he is one of the best Fortnite players right now.
6. Merstach

Merstach's best results recently came with TaySon in this chapter. However, before that, he had a good ending in Chapter 3 with Malibuka. In Chapter 4, he was part of a top duo to watch, earning an early win in his region at the Major and booking a spot at the FNCS Invitational later this year.
While the pressure may have been reduced as seen in Major 2, he is still one of the best Fortnite players in Chapter 4.
7. They arise
Credits: Early game
Malibuca was one of the more recent additions to Fortnite's top players, but has consistently been one of the best players over the past year. Since turning pro in 2021, he has quickly become one of the biggest rising stars. The player was part of a duo that won the Gamers8 LAN and placed second in some FNCS Finals for Chapter 3.
Most recently he was part of a huge team with Th0masHD. They are the two best players in Chapter 4.
8. Th0masHD

Th0masHD had a lot of success with Chapter 2. The initial transition to Duos was a little tighter with his placements sliding around, but he's picked things up since teaming up with Malibuca. In this duet, he took second place in the European region of the first Chapter 4 Major.
In Chapter 3, he still had solid results, regularly placing third at the FNCS Finals in teams with Trippernna and TaySon.
9. Coldness
Zasluge: © Laugh Out Loud
As part of a duo with Acorn, Cold rose to the top of the pack in Chapter 4. He won the first North American East Major of the year along with several cash cups along the way. At the end of the 2022 tournament, he won second place at the FNCS Invitational. This is a really strong streak and shows that the player is currently on the rise. Although it was only recently that glory eluded him, finishing a respectable 6th at Major 2.
10. Acorn
Zasluge: Acorn
Acorn has been active since 2019 and is one of the longest tenured players still at the top of Fortnite's best players. He had early wins in FNCS Chapter 2 events. Although they are a duo with Cold, they are back on top in Chapter 4. This duo looks to be the two to watch in eastern North America for the year.

10 more Fortnite players worth mentioning
These are the top 10 Fortnite players in the world right now. However, Fortnite is a game with a fairly large player base. Players are split across platforms and regions, with top talent spread across several editions of the tournaments they host. This inevitably means that more than 10 fantasy players are active in the game. It is rare for ten players to be consistently in the top ten in all the different events. Well, of course, there are more that you could call the best Fortnite players in 2023. Even outside of the pro players, the faces behind the best Fortnite Twitch channels are also pretty impressive.
These are some of the other great players out there right now, ones that could make this top 10 soon.
JannisZ
JannisZ mainly competes in the European region, which is one of the most popular regions for top professional talent. It's hard to stand out here, but JannisZ did it. JannisZ and Vadeal have recently jumped to the top of Europe. They took first place in the hard-fought Season 3 Finals of FNCS Chapter 3. This along with some decent placings in Grand Royale 5u. They're not as consistent as the other players higher on this list, but in Chapter 4 they came up pretty high again.
VortexM
VortexM is an Australian player who has been in the game since 2019. In that time he has moved to many different teams, starting with Blessed. Then he moved on to Immersive Gaming, then Adrenaline esports and then Forbidden gaming. He was recently a member of Frag Empire but left the team in 2021. VortexM definitely stands out on the game's AU server.
Place
Mero is a player who has only been active since 2020, but he has already managed to move from one esports organization to another seven times. He recently rejoined the New Age group. Mero took first place in the Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 Champion Series, starting an incredible run of results.
In Chapter 2, Mero played with Bugh and Muz won the Grand Royale 2023. At the end of the chapter, this victory means a lot. Entering the third chapter, Mero grew stronger.
Player scores in Chapter 3 are off to a good start. First, he and Bugha won FNCS Chapter 3 Season 1 by adapting the Duos format well. In the 2nd season, they drew 3rdrd. In the 3rd, 2nd seasonnd. Those are insanely consistent results. However, they have slipped since including a disappointing showing at the 2022 Invitational.
Rap
Bugha was the best at the first Fortnite World Cup, his scores dropped shortly after, but he has since bounced back in a big way. Playing with Mera, Bugha became a winning player in his field. These feats deserve a spot as one of the best Fortnite players in 2023. Bugha's performance at the Fortnite World Cup was something else. Complete Chapter 2 by winning the Grand Royale.
This was followed by a top spot in Chapter 3 Season 1. Even with the big new changes in the chapter, Bugha remained on top. Then he got 3rdnext season and 2ndin Season 3. As with Mer, this is incredibly consistent. Bugha won one of the best contests at the end of Chapter 2, the biggest in Chapter 1, and is dominating the FNCS in Chapter 3. His crazy streak seems to have started again, however, without many big results in Chapter 4 or the end of 3.
Edgey
Edgey was part of a group with Cented that had great success. He has been active in the game since 2019, so here is the latest information on some of the other top Fortnite players in 2023. He was originally a member of FlyQuest. However, it has been with NRG esports since September 2019. It now competes with Acorn. They have had great tournament finishes in recent seasons.
Betrayal
Reet joins the best Fortnite players here, even with some mixed recent results. The player took first place in the Grand Royale for the end of Chapter 2. As with the others here, this marks him as one of the best players of that era of the game. In the second season, Reet entered the 2ndndwith another excellent performance. In Season 3 Chapter 3, his Duo dropped to 11thu. However, these are still strong endgame and Reet is definitely a player to watch.
EpikWhale
© Shane “EpikWhale” Pamuk
EpikWhale is one of the most consistent Fortnite players in recent times. He initially catapulted into the game's top ranks after the Fortnite World Cup. At this tournament, he took third place in solo disciplines. In Chapter 2, he was part of a dominant trio with two players from 100Thieves or with Reef, although Epik himself is part of NRG.
Shane "EpikWhale" Cotton is a player that seems to be going from strength to strength. This kind of success makes him one to watch in 2023. EpikWhale's team won a Grand Royale with their region, along with several FNCS tournaments in Chapter 2. They won Season 6, 7 and came second in Season 8. Wasn't it so strong in 3. chapter. They still have a good position in the 3rd season, in 11th placeuand a strong win at the Gamers8 LAN. With their performance and good results in recent chapters, EpikWhale is still one of the best players.
Rehx
© 100 Thieves
Rehx is one of the biggest names in Chapter 2. Along with Arkhram, he was part of a team that placed first in many FNCS along with the recent Grand Royale in Chapter 2. This definitely makes him one of the best Fortnite players in 2023. Switching to playing as Duo, Rehx has remained strong.
He has won Duo events alongside EpikWhale such as the DreamHack Open. In Chapter 3, he progressed to playing with Reeta, with some strong recent results. He took home 2ndplace in Chapter 3, Season 2 of the FNCS. this is next to 2ndin the finals of FNCS Chapter 2. He's been killing it in smaller competitions as well.
Chicken
As I sit at 7uin our best Fortnite players of 2021, Hen failed. He is the best ranked player in Europe. Taking first place in Grand Royale is quite a feat with the level of talent in the area. Hen has won his share of major tournaments in the past. His results have not been the best lately. However, this is not a game where you can ban a player forever. Hen could very well climb back up the ladder.
Clix
Clix is one of the most skilled players currently competing in Fortnite. Just appearing in tournaments doesn't automatically put him there, but he's also getting great results. Although he has yet to earn the big win that would send him into the higher tiers of players, he has put in the effort and increased his Fortnite rank. The 16-year-old has shown real determination and commitment to improve in the game, and when you combine that with his already impressive skills, he looks to be a player to watch.

Our top players list highlights some of the people currently in the game to watch this year.
The 2023 tournament list looks set to be quite different from previous years. Although the international showdown could still be a long way off. The top Fortnite players listed here mostly stream just to watch them stack up against the top 0.001%. While content creators like Ninja are high-level gamers, they're focused on having fun. FAQ for the best Fortnite players
How many professional Fortnite players are there?
There are many Fortnite players out there, but it's hard to define which players can be considered "professional". Hundreds of thousands of players are trying to make money by becoming professional Fortnite players. However, the number of truly professional players is small if we limit it to only those who are successful as professional players. That number of professional Fortnite players is around a thousand, and that number includes players competing in the highest level tournaments in each region. Having so many regions helps push that number up a bit for Fortnite. The game offers significant cash rewards, but not enough to make many players consider making it a full-time job.
Who has the most kills in Solo Fortnite?
Currently,Elemental rayholds the record for the most solo kills in the game. That's 48 kills that he managed to collect by slaughtering players who were calmly observing the event. As you can see, that doesn't mean he's the best, just someone who took the opportunity to ruin the event for many! Live events no longer work this way, so players hoping to beat Elemental ray will have to kill half the lobby in active play.
Who is the highest earning Fortnite player?
Fortnite's highest earning player is probably Ninja. However, this can be difficult to measure. If you only count winnings from official tournaments, Bugha is the answer. Its World Cup prize pool is far larger than anything Epic has ever offered.
However, there is more money to be made from Fortnite content and streaming than from competing in Esports events. This is probably why Ninja comes out ahead. It's the biggest streamer, big enough for Microsoft to make a lot of money on the Mixer platform. If you include his earnings as a streamer playing Fortnite and the other cash associated with it, he's probably made more from Fortnite than most pros combined.
Who is the best Fortnite player in the US?
The best players in the US are probably Cold & Acorn or Thor & Boltz. However, as with overall top players, this comes down to preference. Players are better or worse in every tournament. Since these two twins won the last major tournament, they are usually winners. However, this is no guarantee that they will win the next major tournament.
Who is the best Fortnite player in Australia?
Muz is probably the best player in Australia. He regularly tops exclusive tournaments in Australia.
Who is the best Fortnite player in India?
Jiren claims to be the best player in India. He is the power player of the team and is placed high on the Middle East servers.
What percentage of Fortnite players are bots?
It is not known how many Fortnite players are bots in any given game. We know that Epic is developing bots to populate lobbies and make matchmaking easier. Bots are also very easy to spot, following the same basic behaviors. They even wander into the storm to claim their lives if too many players make it to the next round. Each game has a different number of bots, but it is impossible to say what the percentage is. The exception is your first game of Fortnite. Since Chapter 2 started, brand new players have jumped right into the bot game with 99% bots.
How many Fortnite players play on mobile?
Fortnite for Android has at least 40 million players, but we can't say how active they are. Fortnite on iOS is no longer supported, but the game had tons of players when it was released.
Who is the worst Fortnite player?
The worst Fortnite player is probably not a person or someone whose name you will recognize. However, you are likely to come across a player who is eligible for this title in most pub matches. Players who just walk around oblivious to what's going on.
Are Fortnite players dropping off?
As with most games, the player base for Fortnite is declining in terms of active players. However, the total number of registered users is growing. The number of Fortnite players is difficult to understand, as most developers do not publish such information.

Mandate
Commandment is a North American player, has been linked to TSM on occasion and had some results in Chapter 3. The player won FNCS Season 3 Chapter 3, showing incredible progress. This result didn't come out of nowhere, but it was their first major win in a while. He turned 50 in the second seasonu, but he managed 8uin Chapter 3, Season 1. Previous results were playing with Muz. Now playing with Avery, players have reached new heights.
from the duke
Dukez is the latest in the trio of Mero and Bugh to take first place in the FNCS and Grand Royale. These are impressive results. The move to Duos in 2023 had mixed results. In Duo, he starts to climb the Cash Cup ladder. He was not able to produce the same impact with significant victories as his old partners, but he played well. It recently reached 4uin Chapter 3 Season 3, Bugha and Mero are more consistent, but Dukez is also well placed.
Saf
Saf is a great player who was on the Ghost team. Although he parted ways with them, he is still one of the best players. He is usually highly ranked in Epic tournaments, such as finishing 8th in FNCS Chapter 3, Season 3 with Eomz. Let's hope he can maintain this great performance until the end of Chapter 3.
SpeedyND
IG: Speedynd.yt
Speedy is the last part of Oceania's leading trio. He joined several esports teams, starting with Warriors One, then Notorious Gaming and finally Team Process. He is currently free. Recent tournament results have been outstanding, but all as part of this trio. He has yet to break out of this group, but is still one of the Fortnite players to watch.
Slackes
Luminosity gaming
Slackes is a veteran player in the North American East who is currently on the rise. He placed 15th in the duet Fortnite World Cup, alongside his teammates, and took first place at the recent FNCS and fifth at the previous one. Since then, he has also taken first place in several money races. Slackes also had some controversy surrounding his name after Epic handed him, Kreo, Bucke, and Keys a 60-day ban after they were caught teaming up at the FNCS Week 1 Finals.
A scrunchie
© Nikolaj “Flick” Andreas Frøslev
Flikk already has a pretty extensive history in Fortnite esports. Started with Team Atlantis, then became legends. Last year he moved to Wave Esports before finally arriving at Guild. Flikk is one of the most popular streamers for high performance professional gamers.
Flikk hasn't been first in recent FNCS events. However, he was part of a team that finished second and third in the last two. That's decent consistency, especially for a game that often has completely different players in the top ten. This consistency makes him one of the best Fortnite players in 2021.
Jahq
Jack “Jahq” Downs
Jahq is part of G2 esports and one of the most consistent players in NA East. His performance at the recent FNCS was pretty good. He hasn't been that good in most purses, but when it really counts, he seems to be playing his best.
May 11Jahq seems to have left Fortnite, but we're not sure if he was serious yet or not.
Anas
Anas"AnasEl-Abd, along with teammate Flikk, was part of the high-scoring team for two Chapter 2 Fortnite Champion Series." He is a member of Guild Esports along with Flikk, but previously played with Become Legends.
2020 was also a great year for Anas. It has performed well in several Fortnite cashes, qualifiers and moresport tournament. He's also a veteran of the scene, competing consistently since 2019. He recently got decent placements in Chapter 3 Season 3 and Gamers8 LAN tournaments.
Arkhram
Diego"ArkhramPalma is a player for 100 Thieves and has been with the team since 2019. Over the past few seasons, he has become one of the best players currently active in the game. He was also part of the team that placed second in the Grand Finals of FNCS Season 8. However, even though he lost in first place, he has multiple FNCS wins under his belt. With a second place finish and multiple outright wins, his team is dominating the FNCS.
He continued this great streak going into the Grand Royale, where his team won first place. This trio is currently at the top in their region.
Focused
Cented is a FaZe clan player who is in an impressive position in the Fortnite player list. He has been active since 2018, returning to the game for quite some time. Cented has a fantastic strategic mind for the game of Fortnite. With this talent, he achieved impressive results in recent tournaments. He was ranked second during the recent FNCS Seasons 7 and 6. While it would be nice for him to be first, the back-to-back finishes show real consistency.
Cented was definitely one of the best Fortnite players in 2021, and if their performance is anything to go by, they could be one of the best in 2022 as well.
Benjyfishy
Benjyfishy is an older player that most fans will recognize and has improved over time. This player seems poised to continue that trendFortnite Chapter 2. Despite already being embroiled in several controversies, he managed to still rank highly at events. He recently organized his own Benjyfishy Fortnite tournament, which takes place right in the competitive section of the main Fortnite game.
Benjy's recent performance has been pretty consistent, aside from an issue with the recent Fortnite Champion Series that resulted in some stream sniping. Benjyfishy's scores keep getting better and better, making him one of the best Fortnite players in the world and definitely one to watch at the next World Championship.
Led
Muz is a current PWR team player. Although he is not the most famous Fortnite player, he has shown outstanding results. Muz is one of the best Fortnite players in 2021, although he doesn't have as many followers as some of the others here. As for his recent results, he has won several Cash Cups and the FNCS in Oceania. He was part of a big trio on the Oceania server, but has performed well in Solo matches and is currently competing in NAE.
Sunz
Along with VortexM, Sunz had great results at the recent Cash Cups and FNCS. He won first place in FNCS, but also won Cash Cups in Chapters 2 and 3. This performance makes him one of the best Fortnite players in 2023, especially on the AU server.
Sweater
Jumper is a Fortnite player for Luminosity Gaming. Since becoming active in 2019, he has achieved some remarkable results that have set him apart as one of the best Fortnite players. He came second in FNCS Season 8 and won cash cups during that time. Jumper has had great results of late, if he can keep up the pressure, the player could climb even higher on this list.
Chapix
Chapix was the last part of the trio with Hen and TaySon that accomplished great things in Chapter 2. In Chapter 3, he's mostly stuck with Chapix. The duo has had good results, winning several FNCS qualifiers. They recently had a decent finish in the finals.
Avery
© Avery/Twitter
Avery is the second part of the Commandment Duo to receive Chapter 3, Season 3. In Season 2, he came in at #8.uplaying with the Muse. It was a significant improvement compared to the previous season, when they reached 42nd. This shows quite a dramatic increase in Avert scores. If the player can maintain this performance with Commandment, the duo will be a force to be reckoned with.
Andilex
Me too
Andilex didn't make the top 10 in 2020, but its performance over the year really set it apart from the crowd. In recent events, Andilex's performance has been quite impressive. He was first in one of the recent rounds of the FNCS, with a second place finish in the finals. During the European tournaments, this player stood out and showed that he is one of the most exciting new names in Fortnite.
